Last evening I had the rare privilege (and thrill) of participating
in a section of an opera that has thrilled me for about 55 years.it is
the last five minutes of thw Triumphal Scene of Aida, always my favorite
opera.
Can you think of one section of your favorite opera that most
attracts you? Charlie

The wedding cortege in Act3 of Le Coq D'Or... all the bizarre attendants
(dwarves, one-eyed giants, exotic creatures) to the Queen of Shemakhan
preceding the appearance of the foolish Dodon and the Queen... that entire
scene is a summation of what has gone before... gets me every time.
