Post subject: One act operas

Hello folks

I'm looking for good one act operas to go alongside either La Serva Padrona (pergolesi) or Bastien und Bastienne (early Mozart). I've come up with a few ideas but for one reason or another we aren't able to do them.

So the criteria is something with no more than five cast and a production that can get away with a small orchestra (who can tell we're trying to do opera on the cheap!) I think doing two comedies in a bill would be pretty horrendous so something that's more on the serious side. Maybe something modern? I've been trying to track down Jonathan Dove's Siren Song to no avail. But not ruling out a more traditional evening either. No more than an hour tops!

Can anyone help me? I'd be interested to know what little gems people have fallen in love with.

Cheers
