A U.S. Federal appeals court has ruled that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (and
thus all NFL teams) have the right to pat-down ticket holders before
allowing them entry to the stadium. This raises important questions for the
opera industry. Will they be next? Will opera-goers object to being
searched, or will they enjoy it? What are the implications of this for
smugglers of recording devices? Are there already opera houses that search
their patrons?

ljo (yes, it's a slow news day)

Perhaps it's something that could be instituted at the MET to raise
additional monies. For a slight ticket surcharge, you'd get a choice of who
pats you down.

Eleemosynarily yours, and noting the "l"s,
Richard

Figures you would need to charge someone to "pat you down", REGina.
But what would the Republican party say?

BTW, who would your favorite singer be to do a pat-down? I'd vote for
Dietrich Fi-Di; I hear he's very mouthy.

I suppose Mark's choice would be Charlie.

I reckon you meant Dietrich Hi-Five. Mine would be Angela Georgi-Girl.

Mark, have you been brushing with Chinese toothpaste? I didn't write
"famous" singer. I wrote "favoite singer".

I guess you got so excited by the idea of patting down Charlie that you
couldn't read straight.

Don't apologize.

Bill

I'd never have guessed that you had such a vivid fantasy life.

It is fantasies we're talking about, isn't it?

Pot calling kettle black, REGina. There is a chorus of voices
criticizing Opera Clown. Mark is one voice of many. YOU are the only
one who is OBSESSED with regularly defending opera clown. The question
here is not anyone else's so called "obsession" but rather one of your
own sanity and sincerity. While you actively play the knight in
shining armour for Opera Clown, you have written to me in the past the
following email about Charles Handleman. Please note - this is not the
only email slamming Charlie Handleman or a couple of other so called
"friends" of yours on RMO. More will follow as necessary to point out
that you are truly a deranged, psychotic hypocrite. Oh yes, and a
pretentious little snot to boot:

REGina wrote:

Do you think anyone buys from that moron anymore? Maybe once or twice

they tire of getting cds with parts of his breakfast on them (true,
not

made
up). I think he's just an old guy who's really kind of deteriorating
mentally. A few years ago there were some real posts and some real
thoughts - he's mostly a fan and not really an opera lover as such,
much
less an music lover - but there's a place for fandom and always has
been.
But it's pretty clear to me that he's going downhill mentally and that
he
probably doesn't have the ability any longer to really post the more
thoughtful posts. I plonked him (although I never said so publicly)
after he
began writing about the recently deceased Tebaldi as if he was still
calling
her, making a joke of her death, and then when I asked him about which
one
of several of Zeani's Puritani recordings I had, and it was clear that
he
had no idea, it was clear that I didn't need to read him. Clearly, his
relationship with La Tillman hasn't helped him at all, and has really
distorted whatever judgment he has left.

Anyway, I am not trying to stick my nose (speaking of Cyrano) into
your
business, but I think he looms much larger on this board than he does
anywhere else, much less in real life. I even have my doubts about
whether
he really "taught" for six weeks....he certainly was continuing to
post

here
in the middle of the day. Perhaps he babysat a few classes on a day by
day
basis.

Best to you
