As to voices, some, like Charles Anthony, actually have/had
sound-quality above some "star" voices in their ranges.
A couple of questions:
Who are Opera's most celebrated comprimario tenors - in addition to the
ones above, along with Paul Franke, Michel Senechal, and Piero di Palma?
Was it Di Paolis who befriended and effectively went to bat for the
young Theodor Uppman, when some director wanted to fire the latter?
