The policies and regulations specified in the Modifications to HIPAA Electronic Transaction Standards Final Rule which adopts ASC X12 Version 5010 replacing 4010A1 and NCPDP Versions D.0, 3.0, and 5.1 standards went into effect March 17, 2009. Compliance with Hipaa and these standards is mandatory by January 1, 2012.
